We use the Remus race axle-back exhaust system on our BMW Competition. As most of us know, the S55 isnt exactly the best sounding engine out there, so when it comes to exhausts, it is very easy to overdo it. The Remus axle back system is the perfect exhaust upgrade for us, as it is perfectly quiet with the valves closed, all be it with a sublte sportier tone, but with the valves open it really comes alive while not being horribly loud to the point you never want to drive your car in sport or sport plus! The factory burbles are nicely exentuated to give an all round better experience, with no drawbacks or droning. 
 
This exhaust system will also be perfect for track cars, as it will keep the car well within any UK noise limit with the valves closed, and would likely still pass most noise limits with them open.
 
The choice of tip options from Remus is also great. Although they all look fantastic, our choice was the Dry Carbon tips, which really improve the rear of the car, especially when combined with a carbon rear diffuser.
